WebHighland Park’s unusual 15-year age statement combined with a semi-premium price point places this dram in a sort of commercial no-man’s-land between the 12- and 18-year-old Core Expressions. It raises the question of whether or not the whisky has an identity strong enough to justify its own existence within the marketplace. WebThe Highland Park 12 is a very smooth scotch. The nose is really pleasant. You get the dried fruit, citrus, honey, and light smoke predominately. The palette offers more of the same but is so smooth that one could say it’s too smooth. The finish is medium and does deliver the smoke, but it’s subtle. I enjoyed the HP 12 very much.
