The two designs share the same hull shape but have different deck and cockpit profiles. The Alaw is for larger paddlers, with longer legs or thicker thighs.

WebAbsolutely try it. It's superb for rough water. I did a quick review of the TCC version (the red over white model) and why I loved it. I'll add the link below. This one is the fiberglass version, vac 2 makes it a bit lighter as well. It also comes with a footplate instead of pegs, pumped to see what that's like while out on the water. Web18 Mar 2009 · for my money, i'd go for the Rockpool. the guys building them in North America for Chris are solid and do some amazing work. the Tiderace boats have changed manufacturing facilities 4 times in 1 year, and they have been having some QC issues with overly brittle gel coat in the last little while. WebThe ALAW surfs well, catching waves easily and then with responsive but stable handling when tracking across the wave. The fullness of the centre section gives confident and predictable edging with plenty of stability even when under an extensive lean.
WebOp · 6y. I've now test paddled a p&h cetus LV, MV, a tiderace xplore, xscape, ndk explorer, two north shores, and finally today the Rockpool Alaw Bach TCC model. After an hour in a pond, and over 4 hours out in 12-15 kt wind and 1-2 foot waves, it was a no brainer. The Rockpool felt like a dream. I'll be bringing the red one on the photo home ...
